Kedarnath and Badrinath 5-Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Gaurikund

    In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Gaurikund. From there, it's a 16 km trek to Kedarnath Temple, where you'll spend the afternoon exploring the temple and surrounding area. In the evening, you'll return to Gaurikund for dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal
    1 hour 30 minutes (8.2 km) from Gaurikund

    Start your day early with a drive to Sonprayag. From there, it's a 6 km trek to Vasuki Tal, a beautiful high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake before trekking back to Sonprayag. Return to your hotel in Gaurikund for dinner and overnight stay.

  3. Day 3: Badrinath Temple
    2 hours 40 minutes (99.2 km) from Gaurikund

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to Badrinath. Spend the day exploring the town and visiting the famous Badrinath Temple. In the evening, check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.

  4. Day 4: Mana Village and Vasudhara Falls
    30 minutes (3.7 km) from Badrinath

    Take a short drive to Mana Village, the last village on the border of India and Tibet. Explore the village and visit the famous Vyas Gufa and Ganesh Gufa. After lunch, hike to the stunning Vasudhara Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region. Return to your hotel in Badrinath for dinner and overnight stay.

  5. Day 5: Valley of Flowers National Park
    2 hours 30 minutes (80.8 km) from Badrinath

    Start your day early with a drive to Govindghat. From there, it's a 14 km trek to the Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning alpine flowers and rich biodiversity. Spend the day exploring the park before returning to Govindghat for dinner and overnight stay.

Recommendations

Consider taking a dip in the Tapt Kund hot springs in Badrinath for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. You may also want to visit the nearby Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh shrine located at an altitude of 4,632 meters. If you have extra time, consider taking a side trip to the nearby town of Auli for skiing and snowboarding.
