2-Day Itinerary for Shamshabad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    15 minutes (10 km) from Shamshabad

    Charminar is a landmark monument and a global icon of Hyderabad city. This historic structure was built in 1591 AD and has become a popular tourist spot today. In the morning, you can witness the beauty of this iconic structure and visit the nearby Laad Bazaar for some shopping. In the afternoon, head to Chowmahalla Palace to explore the grandeur of the Nizams. The palace is spread over 45 acres and has four palaces within its premises. In the evening, visit the famous Hussain Sagar Lake to take in the stunning views of the sunset. You can also enjoy a boat ride on the lake.

  2. Day 2: Ramoji Film City
    40 minutes (28 km) from Shamshabad

    Ramoji Film City is the world's largest film studio complex and an amazing tourist destination. In the morning, head to the film city to explore the stunning sets, gardens, and entertainment shows. In the afternoon, enjoy delicious food at one of the many restaurants within the film city. In the evening, head back to the city to visit the Salar Jung Museum which houses one of the largest antique collections in the world. From ancient sculptures to modern art, the museum has something for everyone.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit the iconic Golconda Fort, Qutub Shahi Tombs or the Nizam Museum. A visit to the famous biryani restaurants is also a must-do activity. For a side trip, visit the picturesque Osman Sagar Lake or the monolithic statue of Lord Buddha in Hussain Sagar. To maximize your fun, plan your trip during the annual Bonalu Festival which is celebrated in July.
