Two-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Delhi in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Red Fort

    The Red Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Delhi. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1648, the fort is a beautiful example of Mughal architecture. Start your morning with a visit to the Red Fort and explore the stunning palaces, gardens, and museums located inside the fort. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Chandni Chowk market for some shopping and local street food. End your day with an evening walk at India Gate, a war memorial located in the heart of Delhi.

  2. Day 2: Qutub Minar
    40 minutes (15.3 km) from Red Fort

    On your second day in Delhi, head to Qutub Minar, a towering minaret built in the 12th century. The complex also includes various other historical structures like the Iron Pillar and Alai Darwaza. Spend your morning exploring the architecture and history of Qutub Minar and its surrounding structures. After your visit, head to the nearby Hauz Khas Village for a relaxed afternoon of shopping, eating, and chilling in the trendy cafes and bars. In the evening, head to the Lotus Temple, a stunning Bahai House of Worship famous for its lotus-like structure.
