6-Day Nature Itinerary in Leh Ladakh in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Pangong Tso Lake
    Approximately 4 hours (153 km) from Leh

    Start your day early with a drive to the world-famous Pangong Tso lake. You'll be mesmerized by the changing colors of the water as the sun rises. Spend the morning admiring the stunning views and taking lots of pictures. After lunch, visit the nearby Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. In the evening, head back to Leh.

  2. Day 2: Nubra Valley
    Approximately 4 hours (120 km) from Leh

    Drive along the scenic Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world, to reach Nubra Valley. Visit the Diskit Monastery and take a camel ride in the sand dunes of Hunder. Spend the evening stargazing and camping under the stars.

  3. Day 3: Tso Moriri Lake
    Approximately 7 hours (220 km) from Nubra Valley

    Head towards the serene Tso Moriri lake, situated in the middle of the Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary. Spend the day hiking around the lake and spotting rare birds and wildlife. Enjoy a quiet evening watching the sunset over the lake.

  4. Day 4: Magnetic Hill
    Approximately 6 hours (200 km) from Tso Moriri Lake

  6. Day 6: Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve
    Approximately 4 hours (140 km) from Leh

    End your trip with a visit to the Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, a protected area for rare and endangered species. Spend the day spotting wildlife and bird watching. After lunch, visit the nearby Korzok Monastery before heading back to Leh.
