4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Kidranath in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Himalayan Zoological Park
    30 minutes (11.2 km) from Kidranath

    In the morning, head to the Himalayan Zoological Park which houses many endangered species, including the red panda and snow leopard. Take a guided tour of the park to learn more about the animals and their habitat. In the afternoon, visit the famous Kedarnath temple, located just a few kilometres from the park.   2. Day 2: Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 15 minutes (44.1 km) from Kidranath

    Spend the morning exploring the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to many species of flora and fauna. Take a guided trek to the Chandrashila peak, located at an altitude of 4090m, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. In the afternoon, head to the Vasuki Tal lake, which is located just a few kilometres from the sanctuary. The lake is nestled between the mountains and is a popular spot for trekking and camping. In the evening, relax by the lake and take in the beautiful sunset.

  3. Day 3: Adventure Sports in Kedarnath

    Begin your day with an adrenaline rush by trying out various adventure sports such as rock climbing, river rafting, and bungee jumping. These activities are offered at various adventure camps located in and around Kedarnath. In the afternoon, visit the Gandhi Sarovar, a beautiful glacial lake that is named after Mahatma Gandhi. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is a great spot for a picnic. In the evening, head to the Tungnath temple, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is located at an altitude of 3680m.

  4. Day 4: Trek to Valley of Flowers
    2 hours 30 minutes (91.5 km) from Kidranath

    On your last day, take a guided trek to the Valley of Flowers, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its stunning natural beauty. The valley is home to many species of flowers and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. In the afternoon, visit the Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage centre that is located just a few kilometres from the valley. In the evening, head back to Kidranath and enjoy a relaxing evening.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Badrinath temple, which is located just a few hours from Kidranath. You can also take a side trip to the Auli ski resort, which is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding.
