7-Day Adventure Itinerary for Spiti Valley in August 2023

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kaza
   From Kullu Airport to Kaza (8 hours, 190 km)

   Upon arrival, set up base in Kaza and explore the town. Visit the Key Gompa Monastery, Sakya Tangyud Monastery and the Kibber Village for breathtaking views of the valley.

2. Day 2: Chandra Taal Lake
   From Kaza to Chandra Taal Lake (6 hours, 100 km)

   Start early morning to reach the moon lake for sunrise. Trek around the Chandra Taal lake and spend some peaceful time by the tranquil waters. Return to Kaza by evening.

3. Day 3: Pin Valley National Park
   From Kaza to Pin Valley National Park (1 hour, 20 km)

   Take a guided trek of the beautiful Pin Valley National Park to spot the elusive snow leopard. Visit the Kungri Monastery and explore the unique flora and fauna of the region.

4. Day 4: Langza-Hikkim-Komic Village Circuit
   From Kaza to Langza (2 hours, 18 km)

   Start the day with a visit to the Langza village for the statue of Lord Buddha and the fossils found in the area. Hike to the nearby Hikkim village to visit the highest post office in the world. End the day with a visit to Komic village and the Tangyud Monastery.

5. Day 5: Dhankar Lake & Monastery
   From Kaza to Dhankar Lake (2 hours, 32 km)

   Start the day with a trek to the Dhankar Lake for an enchanting view of the valley. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake and then visit the Dhankar Monastery, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

6. Day 6: Kunzum Pass & Chandra Valley
   From Kaza to Kunzum Pass (3 hours, 70 km)

   Drive to the Kunzum Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world, to visit the Kunzum Mata Temple for blessings. Enjoy the stunning views of the Chandra Valley and then drive back to Kaza by evening.

7. Day 7: Departure from Kaza
   From Kaza to Kullu Airport (8 hours, 190 km)

   Depart from Kaza to catch a flight from Kullu Airport.

Recommendations

Consider camping in the Pin Valley National Park if you have extra time. Take a side trip to Tabo village to visit the Tabo Monastery, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Consider visiting Spiti river and indulge in activities like river rafting and camping.
