Al-Balad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic district located in Jeddah. It’s home to stunning traditional architecture, including coral stone buildings, and is a great place to wander around to experience the historic culture of Jeddah.
The Nasseef House is a museum with over 400 years of history and is considered one of the most important heritage sites in Saudi Arabia. It’s a prime example of traditional Arabian architecture and offers a glimpse into Saudi Arabian history and culture.
The Jeddah Sculpture Museum is home to an extensive collection of contemporary sculpture from artists all over the world. The museum is well-known for its impressive outdoor garden, the Sahary Gate, which comprises large sculptures from artists such as César, Bernar Venet, and Joan Miró.
It’s recommended to take a taxi or rent a car to travel around Jeddah as public transportation is limited. Taxis are readily available, and ride-hailing apps are also an option. Expect to pay between 20-40 SAR for each taxi ride depending on the location.
If you have more time, it’s recommended to visit the Floating Mosque, one of the most iconic buildings in Jeddah. For shopping, visit the Red Sea Mall or Tahlia Shopping District. If you have less time, consider visiting just one of the locations mentioned in the itinerary and adding another site within walking distance.
Jeddah has one major airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED), located approximately 19km north of the city centre. The airport offers domestic and international flights from various airlines.
