7-Day Itinerary for Maharashtra

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    30 minutes (10.5 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

    Escape the city and spend the day in the hill station of Mahabaleshwar, known for its stunning views and strawberry farms. Visit the 13th-century Mahabaleshwar Temple and take a dip in the natural pools of Lingmala Waterfall.

  6. Day 6: Shirdi Sai Baba Temple
    5-hour drive (240 km) from Mahabaleshwar

    Start the day with a visit to Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Continue to the holy town of Shirdi to visit the Sai Baba Temple. Spend the night in Nashik.

  7. Day 7: Sula Vineyards
    1-hour drive (30 km) from Nashik

    End the trip with a visit to Sula Vineyards, India's leading winery. Take a tour of the vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting session. Return to Mumbai in the evening.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider a side trip to the hill station of Matheran or the beaches of Alibaug. For a unique experience, take a heritage walk of Mumbai's colonial architecture or visit the Elephanta Festival in February.
