2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Pondicherry in July 2023

  1. Day 1: The Promenade Beach

    The Promenade Beach is a perfect place to start your trip to Pondicherry. The scenic beachfront provides a great view of the Bay of Bengal. Start your morning with a walk on the beach or a jog on the promenade. Kids can have a great time playing in the sand or cycling on the promenade. Once the sun is high, head to one of the many beachside restaurants for some fresh seafood. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby areas. Visit the French War Memorial or take a stroll through the beautiful streets of the French Quarter. In the evening visit the Gandhi Statue and enjoy the sunset while savoring some street food.

  2. Day 2: Auroville
    30 minutes (7.5 miles) from The Promenade Beach

    Get on an early start and head to Auroville, a unique experimental township. Start your morning at the famous Matrimandir, an awe-inspiring golden sphere that symbolizes universal oneness. After this, explore the various pavilions that showcase sustainable living practices. Auroville also has a variety of workshops and boutiques where you can indulge in some shopping. For lunch, head to one of the many organic cafes that offer farm-to-table food grown within Auroville. Spend the evening at the Serenity Beach, a peaceful beach with an undeveloped coastline. Enjoy some snacks while watching the waves as the sun goes down.
