The Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines in India and is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple is situated on the southern bank of the Krishna River, nestled amidst the Nallamala Hills. In the morning, you can participate in the Abhishekam (a ritualistic bathing of the deity) and offer your prayers. After lunch, take a ropeway ride to Patala Ganga, which is a beautiful waterfall located within the Nallamala Forest. In the evening, visit the Sakshi Ganapathi Temple, a small shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha, located on a nearby hill.
The Srisailam Dam is a gravity dam built across the Krishna River, which is the second-largest river in India. You can take a boat ride on the reservoir and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. The dam has a beautiful park where you can relax and have a picnic with your family. After lunch, visit the Akka Mahadevi Caves, which are located on a hill near the Srisailam Dam. These caves have a historical and mythological significance and are dedicated to the Hindu mystic, philosopher, and poet, Akka Mahadevi. In the evening, you can take a dip in the holy waters of the Krishna River and offer your prayers at the Panchmukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, which is located near the dam.
