4-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary: Mathura to Sikkim

  1. Day 1: Agra Fort, Agra
    2 hours 45 minutes (127.4 miles) from Mathura

    The morning will start with a visit to the iconic Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century and was later used as a palace by his grandson Shah Jahan. The fort has a rich history and houses several beautiful palaces, including the Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal. After lunch, we will head to the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, also known as the "Baby Taj." The tomb is a beautiful marble structure and is often referred to as a draft of the Taj Mahal. In the evening, we will visit Mehtab Bagh, a Mughal-era garden complex that provides a stunning view of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River.

  2. Day 2: Khajuraho Group of Monuments, Khajuraho

    After breakfast, we will ride to Khajuraho to visit the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples are famous for their erotic sculptures and intricately carved sandstone walls.   3. Day 3: Tsomgo Lake, Gangtok

The pass offers stunning views of the Himalayas and is an important trade route between the two countries. After lunch, we will visit the Tsomgo Lake, a glacial lake located at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is considered sacred by the local people. In the evening, we will explore the local markets and try some traditional Sikkimese food.

  4. Day 4: Rumtek Monastery, Gangtok
    1 hour 15 minutes (6.4 miles) from Gangtok

    In the morning, we will visit the Rumtek Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery that is home to the Karmapa, the head of the Karma Kagyu lineage. The monastery was originally built in the 16th century and was rebuilt in the 20th century after it was destroyed. The monastery houses several beautiful murals and statues and is an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists. In the afternoon, we will ride to the Tashi Viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas. We will end the day with a visit to the MG Road, a popular shopping district that is closed to vehicles and is lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes.
