Chardham Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Yamunotri
    1.5 hours (34.6 miles) from Dehradun

    Visit the Yamunotri temple in the morning and take a dip in the hot springs. In the afternoon, trek to Saptarishi Kund, a beautiful glacial lake. In the evening, attend the aarti at Yamunotri temple.

  2. Day 2: Gangotri
    5 hours (105.3 miles) from Yamunotri

    Visit the Gangotri temple in the morning, get a glimpse of the Gangotri glacier and take a dip in the Bhagirathi river. In the afternoon, visit the picturesque town of Harsil and enjoy the view of the Himalayan range. In the evening, attend the aarti at Gangotri temple.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath
    7.5 hours (152.5 miles) from Gangotri

    Visit the Kedarnath temple in the morning and trek up to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake. In the afternoon, visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi and Bhairon Temple. In the evening, attend the aarti at Kedarnath temple.

  4. Day 4: Badrinath
    4.5 hours (109.5 miles) from Kedarnath

    Visit the Badrinath temple in the morning and take a dip in the Tapt Kund. In the afternoon, visit the Mana village, the last village on the Indian side of the Indo-Tibetan border. In the evening, attend the aarti at Badrinath temple.

  5. Day 5: Auli
    1.5 hours (37.3 miles) from Badrinath

    Take a cable car ride to Auli and enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, go for a trek to Gurso Bugyal, a beautiful meadow. In the evening, relax at the resort and enjoy the bonfire.

  6. Day 6: Rishikesh
    9 hours (189.5 miles) from Auli

    Visit the Triveni Ghat in the morning and take a dip in the Ganges river. In the afternoon, visit the Beatles Ashram and attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. In the evening, explore the local markets and cafes.

  7. Day 7: Haridwar
    1 hour (20.8 miles) from Rishikesh

    Visit the Har Ki Pauri ghat in the morning and attend the Ganga Aarti. In the afternoon, visit the Chandi Devi temple and take a cable car ride to Mansa Devi temple. In the evening, explore the local markets and try the street food.

Recommendations

Take a side trip to Valley of Flowers National Park, which is about 3 hours from Badrinath. Also, consider white water rafting in Rishikesh. To make the most of your trip, start early in the morning and plan your itinerary based on the opening and closing times of the places you want to visit.
