4-Day Itinerary for Yana Caves, Gokarna, Honnavara, Murdeshwara, Shivmogga and Sakleshpura

  1. Day 1: Yana Caves
    1 hour 25 minutes (38.4 km) from Gokarna

    In the morning, you will journey to the Yana Caves. These are a set of limestone caves found in the Sahyadri mountain range. Yana Caves are located in a valley of two hilltops, surrounded by thick forest cover and waterfalls. The Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara are the two massive rocky outcrops that tower over the caves. Trek to the caves and explore the natural formations inside. After lunch, drive to Gokarna.

  2. Day 2: Gokarna and Honnavara
    2 hours 15 minutes (69.7 km) from Yana Caves

    In the morning, you can explore the beaches in Gokarna like the Kudle Beach, Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach. After lunch, you will drive to Honnavara to visit the Kasarkod Beach, a long sandy beach with a rocky terrain. You can also visit the Honnavara lighthouse and take a scenic drive along the Honnavara coast. After a long day, check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

  3. Day 3: Murdeshwara and Shivmogga
    2 hours 23 minutes (110 km) from Honnavara

    In the morning, visit the Murdeshwara Temple and Beach. The main attraction here is the towering statue of Lord Shiva, which stands at 123 feet tall. You can also take a dip in the Arabian Sea at the Murdeshwara Beach. After lunch, drive to Shivmogga to visit the Jog Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. You can also visit the Shivappa Nayaka Palace, a historical palace with intricate architecture and ancient paintings. Check into your hotel in Shivmogga for an overnight stay.

  4. Day 4: Sakleshpura
    4 hours 10 minutes (212 km) from Shivmogga

    In the morning, you will drive to Sakleshpura to visit the Manjarabad Fort, built by Tippu Sultan in the 18th century. After lunch, visit the Bisle Ghat Viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. You can also take a stroll in the Sakleshpura town and visit the Kukke Subramanya Temple. After a long day, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
