3-Day Itinerary for Ujjain in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahakaleshwar Temple
    10 minutes (1.2 km) from Ujjain Junction Railway Station

    Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the most famous and revered temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in India. It is believed to be one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines and is a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers. You can start your day early and attend the Bhasma Aarti, which takes place from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM. After the Aarti, you can have breakfast at the temple's canteen and then explore the temple complex. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Kal Bhairav Temple and the Vedh Shala Observatory. In the evening, you can attend the second Aarti which takes place from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

  2. Day 2: Kaliadeh Palace and Chintaman Ganesh Temple
    30 minutes (8.2 km) from Mahakaleshwar Temple

    Today, you can visit the Kaliadeh Palace, situated on the banks of the Shipra River. The palace was built by the Maratha ruler, Ranoji Shinde, and is famous for its beautiful architecture and stunning views of the river. You can also take a boat ride in the river and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings. In the afternoon, you can visit the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is known for its beautiful carvings and sculptures and is a popular spot for devotees. In the evening, you can visit the Ram Ghat and attend the evening Aarti.

  3. Day 3: Sandipani Ashram and Harsiddhi Temple
    20 minutes (6.6 km) from Kaliadeh Palace

    On your last day in Ujjain, you can visit the Sandipani Ashram, which is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna and Sudama received their education from Guru Sandipani. The ashram is a serene and peaceful place and a must-visit for spiritual seekers. After the ashram, you can visit the Harsiddhi Temple, which is one of the Shaktipeeths in India.
