The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoological Park is a great way to start the trip with the family. Get inspired by the mountaineering exhibits in the morning, and then ogle at snow leopards, red pandas, and Siberian tigers in the afternoon. End the day with a ride on the charming Himalayan Railway!

Take a day trip to the Sandakphu Trek for a scenic hike with stunning views of the Himalayas. The trek is perfect for families with older children who love adventure and nature. The trek will take around 6-8 hours, so pack accordingly. Return to Darjeeling in the evening.

If you have extra time, head to the nearby city of Kalimpong, and visit the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang monastery. You can also take a day trip to Mirik to see the Sumendu Lake and the beautiful tea gardens. Don't forget to try the momos and thukpa, traditional Himalayan dishes.
