3-Day Itinerary for Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar

  1. Day 1: Indore - "The Food City"
    1 hr 30 min (56.9 km) from Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Lal Bagh Palace. Built-in 1921, this palace is an excellent example of Maratha-style architecture and houses a museum with collections of antiques and paintings. Then, head to the Sarafa Bazaar, which is known for its street food. Try the famous Indori Poha, Bhutte ki Kees, and Jalebi before moving on to your next destination.

    Afternoon: Visit the Kanch Mandir, also known as the Glass Temple, which is entirely built of glass and mirrors. After that, stop at the Rajwada Palace, a seven-storied structure built in 1747 AD. It has a mix of French, Mughal, and Maratha architecture and is an important historical landmark. Finally, visit the Chhappan Dukan, a famous food street with 56 different food shops.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Annapurna Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess of food. It is beautifully lit up in the evening and is a sight to behold.

  2. Day 2: Ujjain - "The Holy City"

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Omkareshwar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated on an island in the Narmada River and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Then, visit the Mamleshwar Temple, which is also dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated on the other side of the Narmada River.

    Afternoon: Visit the Siddhanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Kajal Rani Cave, which has a natural shivalinga. Then, head to the Satmatrika Temples, which are a group of seven small temples dedicated to the seven mothers.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Ahilya Ghat, situated on the bank of the Narmada River. It is a beautiful place to watch the evening aarti and take a boat ride.
