Transportation

Transportation between locations can be done by car, bike or ATV rentals. Taxis and buses are also available on the island. Keep in mind that Bora Bora is a small island, and driving times don't usually exceed 45 minutes. A car rental for one day is approximately $100.

If you have more time, consider taking a boat tour of the lagoon, visiting other nearby islands or enjoying a spa day at one of the luxurious resorts. If you have less time, consider combining some of the locations, such as hiking Mount Otemanu and visiting the Turtle Center on the same day, or visiting Matira Beach and Matira Point on the same day.

Airports

The main airport in Bora Bora is the Bora Bora Airport (BOB), also known as Motu Mute Airport. It is located on a small islet just northeast of the main island and is serviced by Air Tahiti. The airport is approximately 15 minutes by boat transfer from Vaitape, the main town on the island.
