Four-Day Itinerary for Mo'orea

  • Day 1: Mo'orea Lagoonarium
    7-minute drive (2.1 miles) from your hotel

    Start your trip by exploring the natural wonders of Mo'orea Lagoonarium. This marine reserve is home to varieties of fish, sea turtles, and other marine life. Snorkel or swim here but don't miss the opportunity to witness the feeding on the lagoonarium.

  • Day 2: The Belvedere Lookout
    30-minute drive (12.2 miles) from yesterday's site

    The Belvedere Lookout offers a stunning panoramic view of Mo'orea's lush forests and jagged peaks. You can hike or drive to the lookout, but a hike is what we suggest. It provides a great opportunity to explore the neighborhood, witness wildlife, and learn more about the history of the area .

  • Day 3: Tiki Village Cultural Center
    16-minute drive (4.8 miles) from yesterday's site

    The Tiki Village Cultural Center provides a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Mo'orea. Visitors can experience local life, dances, handicrafts, foods and drinks, tour a village and experience fishing with locals. This center also offers an immersive learning experience about the history of French Polynesia and Mo'orea.

  • Day 4: Temae Beach
    10-minute drive (3.7 miles) from yesterday's site

    Wrap up your trip by relaxing on Temae Beach, one of the beautiful sandy beaches of Mo'orea that offers stunning views of the ocean, coral reefs, and the island of Tahiti. Sunbathe, snorkel or go for a water sport here. There's plenty to do here in the beautiful surroundings.

Transportation

Mo'orea offers a limited transport system with only a car rental, half-day taxi tours, and paid shuttle services by hotels or other providers as options. Half - day tours are an affordable option, but car rentals give you the flexibility to explore the island at your own pace with around $50 a day. Expect to cover around 12 miles of distance.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, check out the Pineapple plantations, Mount Rotui or Cooks Bay. The Snorkeling Point de vue is another amazing location but can be crowded. If you have less time at hand, consider reducing the duration of any activity, or drop a site that goes the lowest on your priority list.

Airports

Temae Airport (MOZ) is the nearest airport on Mo'orea, located only 3 miles from the city center. It serves domestic destinations and small planes operated by Air Tahiti. The larger Fa'a'ā International Airport (PPT) is present in Papeete, the capital city of French Polynesia, located on the neighboring island of Tahiti.
