Discovering Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur, Trimakeshwar, Omkareshwar, Greneshwar and Kandala in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Shirdi
    25 minutes (15.7 km) from Shani Shingnapur

    In the morning, visit the world-famous Sai Baba Temple and offer your prayers. Later, head to the Dixit Wada Museum to explore a range of ancient artefacts and Sai Baba's personal belongings. In the evening, take a stroll at the Lendi Baug, a famous garden that Sai Baba used to visit.

  2. Day 2: Shani Shingnapur
    1 hour 10 minutes (62.8 km) from Trimakeshwar

    Visit the Shani Shingnapur Temple and get a glimpse of the revered idol of Lord Shani. The temple is known for its unique tradition of not having doors for any of the houses in the village. Spend your day visiting the local markets and trying out some authentic local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Trimakeshwar
    5 hours 40 minutes (340 km) from Omkareshwar

    Make your way towards Trimakeshwar, and visit the Trimakeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its unique architecture and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. In the afternoon, head to the Nashik Wine Trail and explore some of the best vineyards in the region.

  4. Day 4: Omkareshwar
    4 hours (252 km) from Greneshwar

    In the morning, visit the Omkareshwar Temple, which is believed to be one of the holiest shrines in India. Take a boat ride in the serene waters of the Narmada River and witness the stunning beauty of the valley. In the evening, explore the local markets and indulge in some retail therapy.

  5. Day 5: Greneshwar
    1 hour 30 minutes (72 km) from Kandala

    Visit the Greneshwar Temple and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. The temple is located amidst the Sahyadri hills and offers a stunning panoramic view of the valley. In the afternoon, visit the Ajanta and Ellora Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage sites and are known for their unique rock-cut architecture.

  6. Day 6: Kandala
    2 hours 35 minutes (153 km) from Shirdi

    Visit the Kandala Fort, which is located at an altitude of 1412 meters and offers a breathtaking view of the valley. Spend your afternoon exploring the local markets and shopping for some souvenirs. In the evening, visit the Trimbakeshwar Temple and offer your prayers to Lord Shiva.

  7. Day 7: Departure

    After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and proceed to your onward journey.

Recommendations

Make sure to carry enough cash as most of the small local markets do not accept debit/credit cards. It is also advisable to wear comfortable footwear as some of the places require a lot of walking.
