  • Day 1: Petra

  • Day 2: Wadi Rum

Go on a camel safari or rent a 4x4 to explore the canyons and sand dunes. While you’re there, stargaze at the beautiful clear night skies that Wadi Rum has to offer.

  • Day 3: Aqaba

    Located on the Red Sea, Aqaba offers great opportunities for water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and even a submarine tour. While you’re in town, visit the Aqaba Castle which dates back to the Mamluk era, the Aqaba Archaeological Museum, and the new eco-park, Ayla Oasis.

  • Day 4: Dana Biosphere Reserve

    Embark on a scenic off-road journey from the Dead Sea to Dana Biosphere Reserve, the largest nature reserve in Jordan. Catch a glimpse at over 700 species of plants and animals, including some endangered animals such as the Black Iris and the Nubian Ibex. Don’t forget to visit the traditional village and the Feynan Ecolodge.

  • Day 5: Dead Sea

  • Day 6: Jerash

    Jerash is one of the world’s best-preserved Roman cities buried for centuries. Explore the Main Square, the Fountain of the Lions, the Temple of Zeus, and the South Theater while learning about the rich history and charm that Jerash offers. Don't forget to check out the quaint market and its delicious falafel stalls.

  • Day 7: Amman
    45 minutes (43 km) from Jerash

    Finish your trip off in Amman, Jordan's capital city. Don't miss out on exploring the Amman Citadel, the Roman Theater, and the Rainbow Street, which offers a wide variety of shops, cafes, and food options. Visit the Downtown Jordan Museum to learn about the deep roots and cultural history that Jordan proudly boasts.

Transportation

Most of the attractions are vast and far apart, and it's only accessible by car. It might be challenging if you are not familiar with Arabic, so it's best to rent a private car with driver/guide. A 7-seater vehicle rental starts from JOD 35 per day, and a comprehensive vehicle rental with driver starts from JOD 160 per day. Book well in advance to avoid last-minute high prices. Do note that gasoline prices are not included in the car rental costs.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, visit more natural reserves such as Ajloun, Shawmari, Azraq Wetland, and Mujib Biosphere Reserve. If you have extra time in Amman, visit the Royal Automobile Museum, Beit Sitti Cooking Class, and the National Gallery of Fine Arts. For more action, try cliff jumping in Wadi Mujib or paragliding in Deir Alla. If you have less time, remove Dana Biosphere Reserve from the itinerary. The drive is quite lengthy and tiring, and there are other natural reserves that are closer to Amman that you can explore.

Airports

The main international airport in Jordan is the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Amman, AMM. The airport is located 35 km (22 mi) south of the capital and is the hub for the country's national carrier, Royal Jordanian Airlines. Another international airport in Jordan is King Hussein International Airport (AQJ) in Aqaba, followed by Marka International Airport (ADJ) in Amman, which is mainly used for domestic flights.
