  1. Day 1: Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir
    Located in Katra, at the base of Trikuta mountain. 5 minutes from Katra Bus Stand

    In the morning, we'll visit the holy shrine of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi. It's a spiritual journey that involves 13 km uphill trek. It is recommended to start this trek early in the morning. After reaching the shrine, we'll spend some time seeking blessings from the goddess. In the afternoon, we'll explore the nearby markets and try some local delicacies. In the evening, we'll attend the Aarti ceremony at the Mandir.

  2. Day 2: Bhairavnath Temple and Himkoti
    Located 2.5 km from the main shrine and 3.5 km from Katra Bus Stand

    In the morning, we'll visit the Bhairavnath Temple, which is en route to the main shrine. It is believed that the journey to Vaishno Devi is incomplete without seeking blessings from Bhairavnath. Afterward, we'll head to Himkoti, which is a scenic viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the valley. In the afternoon, we'll visit the Adhkunwari cave temple, which is a revered place for Vaishno Devi devotees. In the evening, we'll attend the light and sound show at the temple.

  3. Day 3: Baba Dhansar and Shiv Khori
    Baba Dhansar is located 35 km from Katra and Shiv Khori is located 77 km from Katra.

    In the morning, we'll head to Baba Dhansar, which is a beautiful waterfall and a revered shrine. It is believed that a demon was killed at this spot by Baba Dhansar, hence the name. Afterward, we'll visit Shiv Khori, which is a famous cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The cave is adorned with stalactites and stalagmites, which are believed to have formed naturally. In the evening, we'll return to our hotel in Katra.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can explore the nearby town of Jammu, which is famous for its temples and historical sites. Another side trip you can take is to Patnitop, which is a hill station located 80 km from Katra. It offers scenic views of the Himalayas and is a popular spot for adventure activities like paragliding and trekking.
