3-Day Itinerary for Bhubaneswar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Lingaraj Temple
    15 minutes (2.5 km) from Bhubaneswar Airport

    In the morning, visit the Lingaraj Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a beautiful example of Kalinga architecture and is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar. In the afternoon, explore the Ekamra Kanan Botanical Gardens which has a vast collection of plants and animals. In the evening, enjoy the light and sound show at Dhauli Hill where you can learn about the history of the Kalinga War.

  2. Day 2: Nandankanan Zoological Park
    30 minutes (10 km) from Lingaraj Temple

    In the morning, visit the Nandankanan Zoological Park which is home to many endangered animals like the white tiger, Asiatic lion, and Indian crocodile. You can also take a safari ride to see the animals up close. In the afternoon, visit the Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves which are ancient Jain rock-cut shelters. In the evening, visit Rajarani Temple and admire the intricate carvings on the temple walls.

  3. Day 3: Odisha State Museum
    25 minutes (8.5 km) from Nandankanan Zoological Park

    In the morning, visit the Odisha State Museum which has a vast collection of ancient artifacts, sculptures, and manuscripts. In the afternoon, visit the Mukteswara Temple which is famous for its beautiful stone carvings. In the evening, stroll around the Bindu Sagar Lake and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

You can also visit the Konark Sun Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located about 65 km from Bhubaneswar. Another popular side trip is to Puri which is located about 60 km from Bhubaneswar and is famous for its beaches and the Jagannath Temple.
