Ujjain 3-Day Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Ujjain Junction Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the most famous Hindu temples of Lord Shiva.     In the morning, visit the Kumbh Mela Museum which showcases the history and culture of the Kumbh Mela, a Hindu pilgrimage of great significance. In the afternoon, visit the Sandipani Ashram, an ancient ashram where Lord Krishna and Sudama were believed to have studied. In the evening, visit the Harsiddhi Temple, a temple dedicated to the goddess Annapurna, the provider of food and nourishment.

  3. Day 3: Chintaman Ganesh Temple and Bhartrihari Caves
    20 minutes (3.7 miles) from Sandipani Ashram

    In the morning, visit the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, one of the most revered temples of Lord Ganesha. In the afternoon, visit the Bhartrihari Caves, a site of great historical and cultural significance, where the great Sanskrit poet Bhartrihari is believed to have meditated. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride along the Shipra River and witness the beautiful aarti ceremony.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and the Mangalnath Temple, one of the eight temples of Lord Shiva.
