5-Day Adventure Itinerary in Goa

  1. Day 1: Dudhsagar Falls
    1 hour 40 minutes (40.3 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, hike to the Dudhsagar Falls, which stands at 1000 feet and is a sight to behold. In the afternoon, go for a swim or relax near the base of the waterfall. In the evening, head to a nearby spice plantation to see how some of India's most famous spices are grown and processed.

  2. Day 2: Grande Island

  3. Day 3: Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary
    45 minutes (18.8 km) from Sao Jacinto Island

    Go on a morning safari to the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a large variety of animals including tigers, elephants, and leopards. In the afternoon, take a hike around the sanctuary to see the different species up close. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Goan dinner at the sanctuary's restaurant.

  4. Day 4: Calangute Beach
    1 hour 5 minutes (16.7 km) from Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary

    Spend the morning and early afternoon at Calangute Beach, one of Goa's most famous beaches. Go parasailing, jet skiing or simply relax on the beach. In the evening, head to Fort Aguada for a panoramic view of the sunset over the Arabian Sea.

  5. Day 5: Trekking in the Western Ghats
    1 hour 30 minutes (43.3 km) from Fort Aguada

    Go on a morning trek in the Western Ghats, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to many unique plants and animals. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Tambdi Surla Temple, which is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Goa. In the evening, head back to your hotel to pack and prepare for your departure.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, which is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Side trips to the nearby cities of Hampi and Gokarna are also recommended. To maximize your fun, be sure to try the local cuisine and attend some of the cultural events held throughout the city. Finally, be sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen, as Goa can be quite hot and humid in June.
