Exploring Wayanadu in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
    45 minutes (14.3 km) from Kalpetta

    Start your day early and head towards Edakkal Caves, a famous prehistoric site located in the Ambukuthi hills. Here, you can explore the caves and see ancient stone carvings. After your visit, you can have lunch at a nearby restaurant that serves traditional Kerala cuisine. For your afternoon, head to the Wayanad Heritage Museum to learn about the history and culture of the region. In the evening, you can visit the Pookode Lake to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.

  2. Day 2: Chembra Peak
    1 hour 20 minutes (26.4 km) from Kalpetta

    Today, conquer the highest peak in Wayanad, Chembra Peak. The trek to the top takes around 3 to 4 hours, but the stunning view of the heart-shaped lake from the peak is worth it. Remember to carry enough water and snacks for the trek. After your adventure, visit the Soochipara Waterfalls to refresh yourself. For your evening, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam and take a boat ride to explore the area.

  3. Day 3: Thirunelli Temple

    On your last day in Wayanadu, visit the Thirunelli Temple, a beautiful ancient temple located amidst the Brahmagiri Hills. After your visit, go on a nature walk in the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary to see a variety of flora and fauna.
