Thailand has an extensive network of transportation. Internal flights are a good option to get to destinations quickly. Buses and trains are the cheapest options, but travel times can be long. Always arrive at the bus/train station a few hours ahead of time as tickets can sell out quickly. Minivans and tuk-tuks are also available at most tourist locations but negotiate the price beforehand. Taxi price negotiation is a must and always advise using metered taxis. Grab taxis and bike taxis are other options available in the city. For getting around in each city we recommend renting a motorbike or bicycle.
Estimated travel cost: Internal flights for longer distances cost around 1500 baht and buses/trains around 150-300 baht.
If you have more time, consider adding the following destinations - Koh Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Pattaya, or the lesser-known Sukhothai. If you have less time, consider saving island destinations for your next trip. Souvenirs are cheaper outside touristy areas, so consider shopping at local markets for a better deal. Always carry Thai Baht in cash as some shops do not accept cards.
