A 2-Day Mumbai City Experience in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
10 minutes (2.9 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

The Gateway of India, built in 1924, is Mumbai's most famous landmark. In the morning, take a boat ride to the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 5th century. The afternoon could be spent exploring the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, which is just across the street from the Gateway. In the evening, head to Colaba Causeway for street food and shopping.

  2. Day 2: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus
20 minutes (5.6 km) from Gateway of India

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a stunning example of Victorian Gothic architecture. In the morning, take a guided tour of the station and learn about its history and architecture. After lunch, visit the Crawford Market, one of Mumbai's oldest and busiest markets. In the evening, head to Marine Drive, also known as the Queen's Necklace, for a sunset walk along the bay.

Recommendations

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Dhobi Ghat, the world's largest outdoor laundry, and the Haji Ali Dargah, a beautiful mosque located in the middle of the sea. If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park or visiting the Kanheri Caves, both located on the outskirts of Mumbai.
