Visit Spituk Monastery in the morning to enjoy the panoramic view of the Indus Valley. The Monastery complex has many rooms with idols, stupas, and prayer flags. Afternoon can be spent at the Magnetic Hill where you can experience the unusual phenomenon of vehicles moving uphill even with the engine is switched off. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa, a white-domed stupa on a hilltop that provides a panoramic view of the Leh city and surrounding mountains.
Start early morning for an adventurous drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Visit Diskit Monastery to witness a 32-meter statue of Maitreya Buddha and enjoy a camel ride on the sand dunes of Hunder in the afternoon. Spend the evening by camping at the valley and stargazing in the clear night sky.
Embark on a scenic drive to Pangong Tso Lake, one of the world's highest saltwater lakes. The lake changes color multiple times a day, from shades of blue to green and grey. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake and take a dip in the cold water if you dare. In the evening, drive back to Leh for some souvenir shopping in the markets.
Don't miss a visit to the Hemis Monastery, which is the largest monastery in Ladakh. A visit to the Zanskar valley for trekking is also highly recommended. You can also visit Tso Moriri, a high-altitude lake that is less touristy than Pangong Tso.
