2-Day Rajkot Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Watson Museum
    5 minutes (1.5 km) from Rajkot Junction railway station

    The Watson Museum is a great place to start your trip to Rajkot. Spend your morning exploring the museum's rich collection of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the history and culture of the Saurashtra region. Make sure to check out the miniature paintings and the sword of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. For lunch, head to Gangour for some delicious Rajasthani and Gujarati thalis. In the afternoon, visit the Kaba Gandhi No Delo, the childhood home of Mahatma Gandhi. The small museum houses some of his personal belongings including his spectacles and writing desk. For the evening, head to the ISKCON Rajkot temple for some peaceful and soulful chanting and prayers.

  2. Day 2: Jubilee Garden and Race Course
    15 minutes (6.3 km) from Watson Museum

    Begin your second day with a morning walk in the beautiful Jubilee Garden. The garden houses a small zoo, a children's park, and a bird aviary. For breakfast, head to the famous Mocha Cafe for some delicious sandwiches and coffee. In the afternoon, visit the Race Course, a popular destination for horse riding. Take a horse ride around the track and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. For the evening, head to the Ishwariya Temple to witness the grand aarti and enjoy the serene environment.

If you have time, explore the Rashtriya Shala, a school that was established during India's freedom struggle. Also, consider taking a day trip to Gir National Park to see the majestic Asiatic lions. Don't miss out on trying the local street food like the famous Kathiawadi Dabeli and Jalebi Fafda.
