Kedarnath 5-Day Itinerary in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Sonprayag

    Morning: Start your day by visiting one of the most sacred shrines in India, Kedarnath Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is believed to have been built by the Pandavas. It provides scenic views of the snow-capped Himalayas and the Mandakini River.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal

    Evening: Take a walk around Guptkashi and buy some souvenirs for your loved ones such as woolen shawls and handicraft items.

If you have some extra time, you can visit the Rudra Cave, situated near Kedarnath Temple. The cave is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva meditated and acquired the powers of immortality. You can also visit the Gaurikund Temple, situated at a distance of 5 km from Kedarnath Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Gauri, the consort of Lord Shiva.

You can also take a side trip to Badrinath, a popular pilgrimage site situated at a distance of 155 km from Kedarnath. It is one of the four sacred shrines in India and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
