Evening: Visit Akshardham Temple, a modern Hindu temple known for its stunning architecture and light and sound show. Learn about Indian culture and history through exhibits and multimedia presentations.
Morning: Start the day early and head to Rishikesh. This spiritual town on the banks of river Ganga is known as the “Yoga Capital of the World”. Attend a yoga session at one of the many ashrams or stroll around the ghats.
Afternoon: Visit Ram Jhula, a suspension bridge over the Ganges river. Take a boat ride or try some water sports like white water rafting. You can also visit the Beatles Ashram, where the iconic band stayed in 1968 and composed some of their famous songs.
Evening: Attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, a daily ritual that involves prayers, fire, and lamps. It is a beautiful sight and a must-see if you are in Rishikesh.
If you have some extra time, you can visit Haridwar, another spiritual town on the banks of river Ganga. You can also plan a side trip to Mussoorie, a hill station known for its scenic beauty and colonial charm.
