2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Vrindavan in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Prem Mandir
10 minutes (2.5 km) from Vrindavan Bus Stand

Started in 2001, the Prem Mandir is a marvel of architecture and a sight to behold. The temple walls are adorned with beautiful carvings and intricate designs. The epicenter of the temple is the main prayer hall which is dedicated to Lord Radha and Krishna. The morning aarti at the temple is a spectacle worth witnessing. The temple has a beautiful garden surrounding it, with fountains, and a huge pond. Have a relaxing afternoon exploring the gardens and enjoying a picnic with your family. In the evening, the temple is illuminated with thousands of lights which enhances its grandeur.

  2. Day 2: ISKCON Vrindavan
15 minutes (3.2 km) from Prem Mandir

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Vrindavan is a must-visit for anyone coming to Vrindavan. The temple complex has a beautiful garden, a restaurant, a gift shop, and a goshala (cow shelter). The morning aarti at the temple is soul-stirring. The temple also offers bhajans and kirtans for visitors, which will leave you with an unforgettable experience. The temple also runs various programs for children which include storytelling, Vedic knowledge, and bhakti yoga. Spend your afternoon satiating your spiritual hunger and your evening learning about the culture and traditions of Vrindavan.

Recommendations

If you have more time in Vrindavan, do visit Banke Bihari Temple, Radha Raman Temple, and Kesi Ghat. These are other prominent temples in Vrindavan and are equally mesmerizing. You can also take a trip to Mathura which is only 11 km from Vrindavan. Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna and has several temples dedicated to him, including the famous Dwarkadheesh Temple. A day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal is also a good idea. Try the local street food which is delicious and safe to eat. Make sure to bargain with the street vendors, as they usually quote a higher price to tourists.
