Recommendations

If you have an extra day, you can visit the historic Wagah Border between India and Pakistan, which is around 30 minutes (30 km) from Amritsar. Also, you can indulge in some shopping in the local markets of Amritsar and Katra. To maximize your fun, hire a guide for the Amber Fort and the Golden Temple. The guide will provide you with interesting facts and history about the places. Lastly, always carry enough water and energy bars during the Vaishno Devi trek, and wear comfortable shoes.
