Kannur Nature Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Payyambalam Beach
    15 minutes (4.3 km) from Kannur Railway Station

    Start your morning with a refreshing walk along the soft sandy shores of Payyambalam Beach. With calm waters, the beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Stroll along the beachside promenade and enjoy local delicacies from the food stalls. In the afternoon, visit the St. Angelo Fort, a 16th-century Portuguese fort built on a hill overlooking the sea. The fort offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Enjoy the evening at the Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, one of the longest drive-in beaches in India. Take a drive through the sandy shores and enjoy the sunset with a cup of tea.

  2. Day 2: Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 10 minutes (37 km) from Kannur Railway Station

    Start your morning with a visit to the Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, a tropical evergreen forest home to a variety of flora and fauna. Trek through the forest and spot rare animals such as elephants, tigers, and leopards. In the afternoon, visit the Arakkal Museum, the former palace of the Arakkal family, the only Muslim royal family of Kerala. The museum houses artifacts and exhibits showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. End your day with a visit to the Paithalmala Hill Station, located at an altitude of 4500 ft. The hill station offers stunning views of the Western Ghats and the surrounding valleys.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Parassinikkadavu Snake Park, home to a wide variety of snakes, and the Ezhimala Beach, a serene beach with a lighthouse.
