Ahmednagar 2-Day Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ahmednagar Fort
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Ahmednagar Railway Station

    Morning: Start your day early and head to Ahmednagar Fort. Built in 1559 AD by Ahmed Nizam Shah, this fort is a must-visit for history buffs. The fort walls are 4 miles long and 40 feet high and also have 24 bastions. Afternoon: Head to the Ahmednagar Museum to learn more about the history of Ahmednagar. The museum has a vast collection of artifacts and displays that showcase the history of the city. Evening: Take a stroll in the beautiful gardens of the Salabat Khan Tomb. The tomb is an excellent example of Mughal architecture and is a peaceful place to end your day.

  2. Day 2: Meherabad
    40 minutes (9.3 miles) from Ahmednagar Fort

    Morning: Start your day early and head to Meherabad. This small town is home to the tomb of Meher Baba, a spiritual leader and God-realized master. The tomb is a place of pilgrimage for his followers and is a peaceful place to start your day. Afternoon: Head to the Vishal Ganpati Temple. The temple is one of the most popular temples in Ahmednagar and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple's architecture is beautiful, and the atmosphere is serene. Evening: End your day with a visit to the Shani Shingnapur temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shani, the personification of the planet Saturn. The temple is unique as it has no doors or locks, and it is believed that Lord Shani protects the village from theft.

Recommendations

If you have extra time in Ahmednagar, then head to the Rehekuri Blackbuck Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to the Indian antelope and is a great place to witness nature. Also, the Renuka Mata temple is a beautiful temple located on the banks of the Gomai river.
