Transportation

With Tokyo's excellent public transport system, it's very easy and convenient to move around the city on trains and subways. You can opt for an Suica card or a Pasmo card to pay for train fares, with cost varying depending on the distance traveled, or a daily unlimited pass. For longer trips to locations such as Tokyo DisneySea, a taxi might be more convenient but can be very expensive. The train and subway system runs from 5:00 am until midnight, making it easy to get around at any time.

Useful Tips

If you have more than 11 days in Tokyo, consider adding a trip to Kamakura, an ancient city famed for its stunning shrines and temples. With less than 11 days, consider skipping some of the destinations on the list or spending fewer days at each location.

Airports

Tokyo has two major airports, Narita International Airport (NRT) and Haneda Airport (HND). NRT is about 60 km outside of Tokyo city center and can be reached via various train and taxi services. Haneda Airport is much closer, only 15 km from the city center and is serviced by an extensive train network.
