4-Day Foodie Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Panaji
    30 minutes (14.5 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, head to the local market in Panaji to get a taste of local produce. Visit the Immaculate Conception Church and learn about the city's history. For lunch, try the fish thali at Ritz Classic. In the afternoon, take a stroll along the Mandovi River and visit the Maruti Temple. In the evening, head to the Latin Quarter and dine at Viva Panjim for some authentic Goan-Portuguese fusion cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Mapusa
    20 minutes (10.5 km) from Panaji

    In the morning, visit the Mapusa market and sample some of the local street food. Head to the St. Jerome Church and admire the stunning architecture. For lunch, try the seafood at Vinayak Family Restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Bodgeshwar Temple and take a boat ride along the Chapora River. In the evening, visit the Thirsty Bear for some craft beer and finger food.

  3. Day 3: Margao
    45 minutes (32.5 km) from Mapusa

    In the morning, visit the Margao market and try the local specialty pao-bhaji. Visit the Monte Hill for a panoramic view of the city. For lunch, try the Goan sausages at Longuinhos Beach Resort. In the afternoon, visit the Damodar Temple and the Chandreshwar Temple. In the evening, visit the Martin's Corner for some live music and Goan-Portuguese cuisine.

  4. Day 4: Colva
    15 minutes (7.5 km) from Margao

    In the morning, visit the Colva market and try the local breakfast dish of poee-bhaji. Head to the Colva Beach for a morning swim. For lunch, try the traditional fish curry-rice at Johncy's. In the afternoon, visit the Our Lady of Mercy Church and the St. John the Baptist Church. In the evening, head to the Fisherman's Wharf for some fresh seafood and live music.

Recommendations

Make sure to try the local drink feni and visit some of the local bakeries for some delicious Goan sweets. Consider taking a day trip to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls or visiting the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Take a cooking class to learn how to make some of the local dishes. Don't forget to also explore the nightlife in Goa and visit some of the local bars and clubs.
