Start your day at the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, named after the famous Indian ornithologist. Take a boat ride through the mangroves to spot a variety of bird species such as kingfishers, egrets, herons, and more. After the boat ride, take a walk through the sanctuary to get a closer look at the birds. If you're lucky, you might even spot a crocodile or two. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Chorao Island for a peaceful picnic by the backwaters. As the sun sets, head to the nearby Reis Magos Fort for a panoramic view of the Mandovi River.
Get an early start and head to the majestic Dudhsagar Falls located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. The falls are at their best during the monsoon season but still remain a breathtaking sight in November. Take a dip in the natural pool at the bottom of the falls or hike up to the top for a panoramic view. On your way back, stop by the spice plantation to learn about the different spices grown in the region. In the evening, head to the Anjuna Beach for some well-deserved relaxation and watch the sunset.
If you have time, visit the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary which is known for its dense forests and unique wildlife. Alternatively, you could also visit the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary for a chance to spot some elusive animals. For a side trip, head to the nearby state of Karnataka to visit the ruins of Hampi. To maximize your fun, try some of the local cuisine such as fish curry rice or vindaloo. Finally, don't forget to take a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River for a unique perspective of the state.
