Mathura, Vrindavan, and Varsana Adventure Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Mathura
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Vrindavan

    In the morning, visit the Krishna Janmasthan Temple, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. In the afternoon, head to Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the largest temples in Mathura. The evening can be spent at Vishram Ghat, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the Yamuna River and witness the aarti ceremony.

  2. Day 2: Vrindavan
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Mathura

    In the morning, visit Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most famous temples in Vrindavan. In the afternoon, head to Prem Mandir, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. The evening can be spent at ISKCON Vrindavan, which has a beautiful temple and a vegetarian restaurant.

  3. Day 3: Varsana
    30 minutes (16.6 km) from Vrindavan

    In the morning, visit the Radha Rani Temple in Barsana, where you can witness the unique Lathmar Holi festival in March. In the afternoon, head to Prem Sarovar, a beautiful lake surrounded by temples. The evening can be spent in Nandgaon, the village where Lord Krishna spent his childhood, and visit the Nand Bhavan Temple.

  4. Day 4: Mathura

    In the morning, head to Kusum Sarovar, a beautiful lake surrounded by temples. In the afternoon, visit the Mathura Museum, which has a vast collection of ancient sculptures and artefacts. The evening can be spent at Radha Kund, a holy lake associated with the love story of Lord Krishna and Radha.

  5. Day 5: Vrindavan

    In the morning, visit the Seva Kunj and Nidhuban Temple, where Lord Krishna and Radha are said to have spent time together. In the afternoon, head to the Govind Dev Temple, a beautiful marble temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The evening can be spent at the Yamuna River, where you can witness the beautiful sunset.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, you can visit the famous temples of Gokul, which is 20 minutes (11 km) from Mathura. You can also visit the Kesi Ghat and Radha Damodar Temple in Vrindavan. For side trips, you can consider visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra, which is a three-hour drive (85 km) from Mathura.
