Bangalore Cultural Immersion Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace
    30 minutes (6.1 miles) from Bangalore City Junction

    In the morning, visit the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace which is a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture. You can see the beautiful floral motifs and intricate designs on the walls of the palace. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Bangalore Fort, which was initially built by Kempe Gowda in the 16th century and later renovated by Tipu Sultan. In the evening, visit the Bull Temple, one of the oldest temples in Bangalore, dedicated to Nandi, the mount of Lord Shiva.

  2. Day 2: Bangalore Palace and National Gallery of Modern Art
    25 minutes (5.2 miles) from Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace

    In the morning, visit the Bangalore Palace, a beautiful palace built in Tudor-style architecture with beautiful gardens. In the afternoon, head to the National Gallery of Modern Art, which showcases the works of Indian artists from the 18th century to the present day. In the evening, visit the iconic Vidhana Soudha, the seat of Karnataka's state legislature and a beautiful example of neo-Dravidian architecture.

  3. Day 3: Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and Lalbagh Botanical Garden
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from National Gallery of Modern Art

    In the morning, visit the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, which showcases the history and development of science and technology in India. In the afternoon, head to the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, which covers an area of 240 acres and is home to over 1,000 species of plants. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dance performance at the Nrityagram Dance Village, which is about an hour's drive from Lalbagh Botanical Garden.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can also consider visiting the ISKCON Temple, the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, and the HAL Aerospace Museum. For a side trip, you can visit the nearby Nandi Hills, which offer beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. To maximize your fun, try some of the local street food like dosa, idli, and vada. Finally, don't forget to shop for souvenirs at the famous Commercial Street or Brigade Road.
