Relaxing 4-Day Itinerary for Jim Corbett and Nainital in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Jim Corbett National Park
    From Ramnagar Railway Station, 30 minutes (14.5 km)

    Morning: Start your day with a thrilling wildlife safari in the Bijrani Range. Witness the majestic Bengal tiger in its natural habitat, along with other animals like elephants, deer, and wild boar.

  2. Day 2: Explore Jim Corbett National Park
    Within the park

    Morning: Embark on a second wildlife safari in the Jhirna Range. Jhirna is open throughout the year, unlike the other ranges in the park. You'll get a chance to spot leopards, sloth bears, and other animals unique to this range.

    Afternoon: Take a break from the heat and enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Dhikala forest lodge. Dhikala is located in the center of the park, and the lodge is surrounded by lush greenery and a river.

    Evening: Go for an elephant safari in the Durga Devi Zone. This zone is known for its picturesque landscape and offers a unique perspective to view wildlife.

  3. Day 3: Travel to Nainital
    From Jim Corbett National Park, 3 hours (135 km)

    Morning: Drive to Nainital and enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and valleys.

    Afternoon: Check into your hotel and have lunch. Then, take a relaxing boat ride on the Naini Lake and enjoy the serene surroundings.

    Evening: Head to the Naina Devi Temple, located near the lake. This temple is dedicated to goddess Naina, and the architecture is a beautiful blend of the Kumaoni and North Indian styles.

  4. Day 4: Sightseeing in Nainital
    Within Nainital

    Morning: Start your day by taking a cable car ride to the Snow View Point. From the top, you can see a panoramic view of the Himalayas.

    Afternoon: Visit the Eco Cave Gardens, a natural park with six caves and various animal-shaped concrete structures. It's an excellent place for children and families to enjoy and learn about nature.

    Evening: End your trip on a high note by taking a stroll on the Mall Road, Nainital's commercial and cultural hub. You can shop for souvenirs, enjoy local street food, and take in the lively atmosphere.

Recommendations

While in Jim Corbett National Park, consider visiting the Sitabani forest reserve, which is known for its birdwatching opportunities. If you're interested in local culture, take a trip to the Kumaon Regimental Center Museum in Ranikhet.
