A Shoestring Budget 5-Day Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Baga Beach
    30 minutes (12 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, take a dip in the cool waters of Baga Beach. In the afternoon, explore the local street markets and indulge in some street food. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing beachside dinner at one of the many shacks lining the shore.

  2. Day 2: Fort Aguada
    30 minutes (9 km) from Baga Beach

    In the morning, explore the 17th-century Fort Aguada, built by the Portuguese. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Sinquerim Beach for some water sports like parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. In the evening, head to the nearby Candolim Beach for some live music and dancing.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Falls
    2 hours (76 km) from Fort Aguada

    In the morning, start the day early and head to Dudhsagar Falls, a four-tiered waterfall that is one of the tallest in India. In the afternoon, take a dip in the natural pool formed by the falls or go on a short trek to explore the surrounding area. In the evening, head back to Goa for some seafood dinner.

  4. Day 4: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    1 hour (29 km) from Dudhsagar Falls

    In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Basilica of Bom Jesus, a 16th-century church that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Fontainhas neighborhood, known for its colorful Portuguese-style houses. In the evening, head to Panaji to enjoy the sunset at Miramar Beach.

  5. Day 5: Anjuna Flea Market
    30 minutes (10 km) from Basilica of Bom Jesus

    In the morning, head to Anjuna Flea Market, one of the most famous markets in Goa. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Vagator Beach for some relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a last-night dinner at one of the many beachside shacks in Anjuna.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time in Goa, check out the Chapora Fort, located near Vagator Beach. You can also take a day trip to the nearby Dudhsagar Plantation or visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. To maximize your fun, consider renting a scooter or a bike to explore the smaller towns and villages in Goa. And don't forget to try out some of the local street food like the Goan fish curry or the bebinca dessert.
