Three-Day Itinerary for Shimla in June 2023

  1. Day 1: The Ridge
    10 minutes (2.3km) from Shimla Old Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit The Ridge which is the heart of the city. Situated in the center of Shimla, it offers a beautiful view of the mountain ranges. You can go for a walk or enjoy the scenery. For the afternoon, head to the famous Jakhoo Temple which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. You can reach the temple by trekking or by taking a taxi. In the evening, take a stroll at the Mall Road which offers a variety of shops and cafes.

  2. Day 2: Kufri
    40 minutes (16.5km) from Shimla Old Bus Stand

    Start your day with a visit to Kufri, which is a small hill station located near Shimla. You can enjoy a pony or a yak ride, go hiking or skiing. In the afternoon, visit the Himalayan Nature Park which is home to various endangered species of animals and birds. In the evening, return to Shimla and visit the Christ Church which is the second oldest church in North India.

  3. Day 3: Mashobra
    30 minutes (14.6km) from Shimla Old Bus Stand

    On your last day, visit Mashobra which is a scenic town situated near Shimla. In the morning, explore the town and visit the apple orchards. You can also go for a nature walk or enjoy a picnic. In the afternoon, visit Craignano which is a beautiful picnic spot located amidst the deodar forests. In the evening, return to Shimla and visit the Viceregal Lodge which was once the residence of British Viceroy Lord Dufferin.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can visit Chail which is a beautiful hill station located near Shimla. It is known for its wildlife sanctuary and the Chail Palace. You can also visit Naldehra which is famous for its golf course. For adventure enthusiasts, river rafting and paragliding are also available in Shimla. To maximize your fun, try local food such as Chole Bhature and Siddu. Lastly, do not forget to carry warm clothes as it can get chilly even in June.
