3-Day Hyderabad Itinerary for City Experiences in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    16 minutes (6.2 km) from Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre

    In the morning, visit the iconic Charminar, a 16th-century mosque and monument that has become the symbol of Hyderabad. Climb up to the top for stunning views of the city. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Laad Bazaar, famous for its bangles and other traditional items. End the day with a visit to the nearby Chowmahalla Palace, which was once the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort
    26 minutes (11.4 km) from Charminar

    Spend the morning exploring the magnificent Golconda Fort, a 13th-century fortress that was once a centre of diamond trade. Learn about the history of the fort and marvel at its impressive architecture. In the afternoon, head to the Qutb Shahi Tombs, which are the final resting place of the rulers of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. End the day with a visit to the nearby Taramati Baradari, a 17th-century music pavilion that offers stunning views of the city.

  3. Day 3: Hussain Sagar Lake and Necklace Road
    15 minutes (5.7 km) from Golconda Fort

    Start the day with a visit to Hussain Sagar Lake, a beautiful artificial lake that was built in the 16th century. Take a boat ride to the nearby Buddha Statue, a 18-metre high statue that weighs 320 tons and is made of white granite. In the afternoon, head to Necklace Road, a scenic boulevard that runs along the lake and is lined with parks, restaurants and other attractions. End the day with a visit to the nearby Birla Mandir, a beautiful temple that is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Salar Jung Museum, which has an extensive collection of art, artefacts and other items from around the world. Another side trip is to the Ramoji Film City, which is one of the largest film studios in the world. To maximize your fun, try some of the local cuisine, such as biryani, haleem and kebabs, which are famous throughout India. Finally, be sure to stay hydrated and carry sunscreen and a hat, as the weather can get quite hot in June.
