Two-Day Nature Itinerary in Chikkamagaluru (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri
    30 minutes (12.9 km) from Chikkamagaluru town

    In the morning, visit Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka, and enjoy a beautiful sunrise amidst the serene surroundings. The trek to the peak is challenging but worth it. After the trek, head to the Seethalayanagiri Temple, a serene temple with a beautiful view of the valley. In the afternoon, visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, a natural habitat for tigers, leopards, elephants, and other animals. Take a jeep safari and get a chance to spot some wildlife. In the evening, visit the Hebbe Falls, a picturesque waterfall in the middle of dense forests.

  2. Day 2: Kudremukh National Park
    3 hours (100 km) from Chikkamagaluru town

    In the morning, visit the Kudremukh National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore the lush green forests, hills, and valleys. Take a trek in the park to see the diverse flora and fauna, including endangered species such as the lion-tailed macaque and the Nilgiri tahr. In the afternoon, visit the Kalhatti Falls, a beautiful waterfall cascading from the Chandra Drona hills. Take a dip in the cool waters and enjoy the scenic beauty. In the evening, visit the Bhadra Dam, a beautiful spot for a picnic with a stunning view of the mountains.
