2-Day Itinerary for Manali in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Hadimba Devi Temple
15 minutes (5.6 km) from Manali Bus Stand

Begin your day by visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, a peaceful and spiritual place in the city. Situated amidst tall cedar trees, the temple is built on a rock which is believed to be the meditation site of Devi Hadimba. The intricate wood carvings and mud walls are worth admiring. You can also take a walk around the temple and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Manali Nature Park, where you can witness the beautiful flora and fauna of the region. End the day with a visit to the Manu Temple, dedicated to Sage Manu, who is considered to be the creator of the world.

  2. Day 2: Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley
2 hours 10 minutes (51.6 km) from Manali Bus Stand

Start your day early to visit Rohtang Pass and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The pass remains closed during the winter months due to heavy snowfall, so it is best to visit during the summer. After spending a few hours at Rohtang Pass, head to Solang Valley, where you can enjoy a variety of adventure activities like paragliding, zorbing, and skiing. You can also take a cable car ride to the top of the mountain for panoramic views of the valley. End the day with a relaxing stroll along the banks of Beas River in Old Manali and enjoy the local cuisine at any of the nearby cafes.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Vashishta Temple and Hot Springs, which are known for their healing properties. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Naggar, where you can visit the Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. To maximize your fun, try some local dishes like the Himachali Dham, Siddu, and Chha Gosht. Don't forget to carry a warm jacket and comfortable shoes, as the weather can be unpredictable in the mountains.
