Three Days Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Ujjain, June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahakaleshwar Temple

    In the morning, visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Witness the impressive astronomical instruments and learn about their significance in Hindu astrology. Afterward, visit the nearby Observatory, which houses modern-day astronomical equipment. Explore the exhibits and attend a sky show, where you can learn about the night sky and constellations. End your day with a visit to the ISKCON temple, and attend the evening prayer ceremony.

Aside from the above-mentioned places, you may also want to consider visiting the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Pir Matsyendranath, and the Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir. If you have some extra time, you can take a side trip to the nearby Omkareshwar temple, located about 80 km from Ujjain. To have the best experience, it is recommended to hire a local guide who can help you navigate around the city and provide insights into the culture and traditions. Don't forget to try the local delicacies, such as poha, jalebi, and chaat. And lastly, keep yourself hydrated at all times as it can get hot during the day in June.
