Delhi in November 2023: A 3-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Humayun's Tomb
    20 minutes (6.4 km) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

    Morning: Start your Delhi trip by visiting the iconic Humayun's Tomb. The red sandstone architecture and the lush green gardens around the tomb are majestic. You can also visit the Dargah of Nizamuddin Auliya, which is a few minutes walk from the tomb.

    Afternoon: Head to the India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to the Indian soldiers who died in World War I. You can enjoy a picnic or street food around the India Gate.

    Evening: End your day by visiting the Akshardham Temple, a modern Hindu temple with magnificent architecture and a light and sound show. You can also enjoy the boat ride in the temple premises.

  2. Day 2: Red Fort and Jama Masjid
    30 minutes (9.2 km) from Akshardham Temple

    Morning: Start with a visit to the Red Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort has beautiful Mughal architecture and houses several museums.

  3. Day 3: Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple
    30 minutes (17.8 km) from Chandni Chowk

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tower has beautiful Islamic architecture and is surrounded by several historical monuments.

    Afternoon: Head to the Lotus Temple, a Bahai House of Worship that has a unique lotus-shaped architecture. You can also meditate in the temple premises.

    Evening: End your day by visiting the Hauz Khas Village, a trendy market with several cafes and restaurants. You can enjoy the nightlife and also shop for trendy clothes and accessories.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, and the National Museum, which has a wide collection of Indian art and artefacts. You can also take a day trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal.
