3-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Tirupati, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Sri Venkateswara Temple

    Evening: Relax at the Govinda Raja Swamy Temple, one of the oldest temples in Tirupati, and observe the evening aarti ceremony.

  3. Day 3: Chandragiri Fort and Sri Kalahasti Temple
    1 hour (20 km) from Tirupati Bus Stand

    Morning: Explore the Chandragiri Fort, a 17th-century fort built by the Vijayanagara kings. Admire the stunning architecture and learn about its historical significance.
    Afternoon: Head to Sri Kalahasti Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is believed to be the site where Lord Shiva saved devotees from a severe curse. Take part in the abhishekam ceremony and witness the intricate stone carvings.
    Evening: At the Kapila Theertham Temple, take a dip in the holy waters and attend the evening aarti ceremony.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park and the Sri Venkateswara National Park. You can also take a side trip to the nearby town of Kanipakam, known for its Lord Ganesha temple. For a unique cultural experience, attend a classical dance performance at the Sri Padmavathi Kalyanamandapam auditorium.
