2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Shimla

  1. Day 1: Mall Road
    5 minutes (0.5 km) from Shimla Railway Station
    Morning: Start your day exploring Mall Road, a popular shopping area in Shimla. Take a stroll and admire the beautiful colonial architecture of the buildings. You can visit the Christ Church, a stunning neo-gothic structure, that is one of the oldest churches in Northern India.
    Afternoon: Head to Scandal Point, one of the most popular tourist spots in Shimla. It is located at the intersection of Mall Road and Ridge Road. You can enjoy some yummy street food and shop for souvenirs.
    Evening: Catch the sunset at The Ridge, a large open space located in the heart of Shimla. The Ridge offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and is a great spot for a leisurely evening walk.
  2. Day 2: Kufri
    30 minutes (17 km) from Shimla
    Morning: Head to Kufri, a small hill station located near Shimla. Kufri is known for its scenic beauty and adventure sports. You can go horse riding, trekking or try your hand at skiing.
    Afternoon: Visit the Himalayan Nature Park, located in Kufri. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna including snow leopards, musk deer, and barking deer. You can also visit the Indira Tourist Park and enjoy some fun activities like go-karting and giant swings.
    Evening: Head back to Shimla and visit the Viceregal Lodge, also known as Rashtrapati Niwas. The Lodge was once the summer residence of the Viceroy of India and is now a museum. The Lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers a glimpse into the history of Shimla.
